Claire is a Housing Benefit specialist with a particular interest and expertise in the recovery of former tenant arrears and the impact that HB payments have on rental incomes. She joined Sheffield City Council in 1985 and worked in the HB section for 17 years. Before becoming the Assistant Rent Recovery Manager for Sheffield Homes 3* ALMO. She then spent a year creating and managing Sheffield Homes Business Development Department.

Claire is one of three HQN trainers providing a comprehensive HB training programme for front-line housing staff, which enables organisations to maximise HB income and minimise rent arrears. She is also a RIEN consultant, and is heavily involved in writing briefings, carrying out FTA healthchecks on organisations, speaking at conferences and events, running a best practice group and contributing to the quarterly mailings.

Claire is currently the Head of Network Services at HQN.
